阿根廷获得了创纪录的第16次美洲杯冠军，也意味着23岁的恩佐已经赢得了他参加过的两项国际高级赛事的冠军，此前他们在卡塔尔赢得了世界杯。
由于球迷进入球场的问题，开球被推迟了80分钟，切尔西球星恩佐在他一贯的中场位置上出场，由于双方在90分钟内都未能进球，比赛进入加时赛。
