当被问到是否会执教自己祖国的国家队时，加拿大主帅马什说：“我对美国队的教练工作没有兴趣，我不会离开现在的位子。说实话，除非加拿大国家队的状况发生重大的改变，否则我是不会对美国队帅位产生任何兴趣的。我在这里很开心，与加拿大足协的管理者合作，以及与球队一起工作都让我非常高兴。”
马什曾先后执教三支“红牛系”球队纽约红牛、萨尔茨堡红牛、莱比锡。2022年2月至2023年2月，马什担任利兹联主帅。2024年5月，马什成为加拿大国家队主帅。
